Answer: There are free fishing days, Piers, getty’s and fee fishing lakes like Santa Ana River lakes where you don’t have to have a license. Big Bear lake requires a fishing license and to park you car anywhere along the lake you also need the Ca. Adventure parking pass $30. for the year. Also some RV parks have there own ponds where you don’t need a fishing license. And of course if your under 16 you don’t need a license.

Best spots for fishing from shore at Big bear are along the north side of the lake by the dam, Boulder bay, and Stanfield cut off. Nothing much going on there fishing wise now as it’s still too cold.

There is also a fee ( you pay by the pound) trout pound in the moonridge area here is the info for that:
