Big Bear California

Question: Which is better for a summer day trip Big Bear Lake or Lake Arrowhead (in So Calif)?

We just want to have a relaxing day at a lakeside sandy beach with small kids and a short hike in the Pines and maybe a quick rowboat ride. Thx.

Answer: Well Big Bear is further up the mountain and Lake Arrowhead is quaint witht the little shops to walk around to. I haven’t been to Big Bear in AGES!! but it’s because it’s a pain to get to I have however been to Lake Arrowhead… neither one of them are spectacular but between the 2 I would probably say Lake Arrowhead. If I were you I would pose this question over on http://www.tripadvisor.com/ in their forum for Big Bear and Lake Arrowhead and see what people think.
