Question: Where can I buy tire chains?
My girlfriend and I are going to Big Bear on Tuesday and I’ve been following the weather forecast. Big Bear Lake is expecting a huge snow storm and road conditions require tire chains on all highways leading into the city. Where can I buy tire chains?
Answer: Kragen has them for $35 (for the cable-type). I’m sure most other auto parts stores sell them, too.
Practice installing them before you head to Big Bear.
I think you may be able to pay someone else to install them once you reach the checkpoint, but I don’t think its cheap.
