Big Bear Lake Camping Serrano

Question: Is Big Bear Lake a Non Alcoholic lake?

I was planning a trip to Big Bear Lake for a camping trip and im staying at Serrano Campgrounds do you have any idea if this is a Non Alcohlic Campground and or Lake?

Answer: Well unless you got reservations you don’t have anything to worry about Serrano is booked solid through summer. The campground as with all U.S. forest campgrounds booze is considered a no no unless consumed in an RV. On the lake and the lake shore is the same thing no open containers. Now will they check? at the campground not likely, and as long as your calm cool and collective so that no one complains no one cares. On the lake and the shore line with any public sections they do check periodically by the lake patrol and forest rangers so again use discretion.

Question: Where is there good fishing at Bear Creek, California, below Big Bear Lake? At the top or bottom??

I checked it out today and took fireroad 1n09, from hwy 38, staight to the creek and hiked upstream for an hour and a half dipping in jigs along the way. I didn’t even get a bite. I was wondering if anyone has fished the creek and knows where the good spots are. I noticed the 1n64 went upstream a ways, so is this the trail i should use? I’d really appreciate any input and i promise not to share any secret spots you may have. THANKS
