Question: sledding in Big Bear, ca?

Hi my family and i will be going to Big Bear Lake, ca in a few weeks we have a cabin right next to snow summit. We wanted to take the kids sledding. We have been to alpine slide but $25/per child and adults that go with the children can get pretty pricey. Are there any safe places that we can go to to enjoy sledding with our own sleds?? I see videos of a lot of people sledding down hills and wanted to know where they were….any suggestions??

Answer: Checking some of those videos, they are all over. Some are at the Big Bear Snow Play area ($), some are at the base of Snow Summit by the Snow Summit Townhomes. Others are small areas around Moonridge.

Bottom line, if you want a nice long hill, you’lll probably have to pay for it. If there were safe and free areas out there, places like Big Bear Snow Play and Magic Mountain/Alpine Slide would be out of business.
