Question: Do you like my poem about the forest?
Well it’s actually about hiking, I had to do it in camp before we left..
A snake, a fish, a bird I see
In the woods, so close to me
A brownish deer with some big old spots
I see this deer that abrupt my thoughts
Along the trail I hike and glance
when all of a sudden I hold my stance..
for there is a bear in my sight
O my word, what a fright!
The sun is shining so bright today
for it is the middle of summers May
I smell a spruce so rich and strong
for the heat is horrid as I trot along
some scary sights yet beautiful smells
what a mysterious story this forest tells
animals creep as willows weep
the sights i see, I will forever keep!
Answer: That’s so cute! The rhyme scheme makes it sound as though it’s audience is young children – yet it still keeps a very mature voice! I loved it, actually.
