Big Bear Lake Camping Sites

Question: Know any nice camping sites in so california?

I’ve already been to Big Bear, Silverwood lake, sequoia park, frazier mtn, anything else you can recommend. Please don’t list any websites i think i’ve seen all of them already.

Answer: There are quite a few campgrounds off the Ortega Highway between Lake Elsinore and Orange County. My favorite is Blue Jay – It’s in the El Cariso ranger district. Anyhow, right now it’s gonna be too hot, but in early spring it’s really nice – especially if we get any rain this winter. There is a stream you can follow right behind the campsites on the north side of ‘the loop’ thats probably about 3 miles with some little waterfalls along the way – ending up at about a 10 ft. waterfall – like I said, depending on the rain.
All in all though it’s nice for tent camping there are tables, fire pits and bbq’s at ea. site. There are pit toilets and water spickets close by ea. site. The sites are well spaced so it’s not like your camping on top of each other and not in a parking lot! There are also RV hookups if you need.

There are lots of campgrounds through the highway if you want to expl;ore others though.
