Big Bear Lake Ontario

Question: Drive to Big Bear Lake?
How is the drive to Big Bear Lake, CA. from Ontario, CA. Is the road dangerous? How is the drive up the mountains? I am an average driver and would like to know what to watch out for. Thank you everyone!!!
Answer: It’s a piece of cake and a most pleasurable drive.
All mountain driving has some dangers ie boulders falling on you, big rig trucks speeding down the mountain taking up both lanes, deer or bear jumping out in the middle of the road, drunk weekend drivers wandering all over both lanes, Camper trailers chugging up the road at 15miles per hour.
Watch your own car, check your water, oil, brakes and tires before you go. Check your spare too. Start with a full tank of gas and fill up right at the bottom of the hill every main route up the mountain has several gas stations. Gas is available on the mountain it’s just $.25 more a gallon there. Coming down the mountain don’t ride your breaks shift to low gear and let your tranny slow you down. Again watch for rocks other than that enjoy the drive stop and take pictures at the pull outs along the way, the yellow flowers smell oh so sweet and the views are fantastic.
